When you print, you can either turn the GLOP back on if you want a bit more "glossy" appearance, or leave it off. Print out your test targets with the GLOP off and create the profile. For some reason, it appears to interfere with most profiling systems. Try profiling your paper without any GLOP. Our prints are absolutely neutral and without a cast though some metamerism is apparent and cannot be entirely eliminated. MyĬurrent prints have a very soft magenta cast. I have yet to get a truely neutral BnW print from this printer. Have you tried elevating your inks a small amount? Pressure instability hasn't been a problem. Initially, we had some issues with clogging, but this soon resolved.

(Printfix pro with a 729 chart, plus extended greys). Nozzle blockages more often and pressure can drop in one of the tubes I don't have to swap out cartidges thanks to the CIS system but I get Ink Republic just released their Gen2 inks and we're in the process of reviewing them. In some ways, I like the lower gloss a bit better, but I print mostly on matte and semi-gloss. Semi-gloss paper's it is ideal, if not slightly better than the Epson Not very glossy when compared with the stock Epson inks. I'm using a Ink Republic CIS system with my R1800. 'Science is what we dream of, technology is what we are stuck with' Douglas Adams But this mostly shows with colour prints, so I tend to print my colour images a bit lighter to minimise the black ink usage. I get quite a bit of Metamesmerism with the black ink, but not with the colour blends. I'm using Ilford Smooth Pearl paper, which is a nice semi-gloss paper. It's taken me about a year to get to this point.hopefully I can get a lot closer next year.
Which looks quite nice, but I'd prefer neutral. My current prints have a very soft magenta cast. I profile regularly and it's a chore (Printfix pro with a 729 chart, plus extended greys).

But for semi-gloss paper's it is ideal, if not slightly better than the Epson inks. The ink set is very good, but not very glossy when compared with the stock Epson inks. It's ok, and probably the best CIS system available.
